Hello all! Let me start by saying Thank You to my cousins that have recently started blogs! I love it! It makes me feel a whole lot closer to you and not a thousand miles away!!! It is great to see through pictures and hear through your own words all that is going on with your families. It was great to see pictures of grandma and grandpa's house at Easter, all of the kids hunting for eggs just like we used to. : ) So...many, many, many thanks! I love you! Also, a couple of you recently had birthdays, so, Happy Birthday!!! Many of you have asked questions reguarding Eric's new job, here's the scoop. He is working at a restaurant in Tacoma on the waterfront, it is called C.I. Shenanigans. It is about forty-five minutes from our house (thirty-two miles). His commute used to be an hour and fifteen minutes (70 miles). They have a website: http://www.cishenanigans.com/, so check it out. Their menu is somewhat similar to McCormick and Schmick's, but differs in that it is more expensive and a little more exotic. They have elk on their menu and a few other unusual meats. He is really enjoying it so far, he started March 18th. He is currently in training to become their executive chef. He is working mostly 10am to 9pm, so Mylie and I are seeing a lot more of him, which we love! Every night he gets to hold her and play with her before her bedtime. This new job has been a huge blessing to all of us. I hope this answers most of your questions, if not, e-mail me. : )
Now, about our girl Mylie. : ) A couple weeks ago she started eating solids, the picture above is of day one of rice cereal. At first she wasn't so sure and who could blame her, she'd never had a spoon near her mouth before and up to this point all of her feedings were liquid. Of course, now she's a pro at eating rice cereal and oatmeal, she now opens big and lunges for the spoon. : ) She also wants to be in control of the spoon and grabs for it or the hand feeding her. As though she is going to direct it into her own mouth, of course if we let her direct it, the food would end up all over her cheek. Today we tried peas, but our little drama queen gagged herself and looked at me as though I was trying to poison her, as if to say "what are you trying to kill me?", better luck tomorrow.
Mylie seemed to enjoy her first easter with a basket full of eggs filled with new socks and binkies. The plastic easter eggs were also a fun toy. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of her in her dress. But I had to include a couple pictures of it because my mom made it and it was very cute and Grandma Williams wanted to see what it looked like. : ) We spent our Easter at Eric's grandparent's home and Mylie loved all the attention she got. She especially loved watching all of her cousins run around. If she could've, I think she would have run around with them!
Mylie has mastered removal of her socks. She can also roll over in the blink of an eye. She has started lifting herself up on her knees once in a while, but does sort of a face plant as she hasn't figured out that she needs to hold up her top half at the same time in order to crawl. She has also started reaching for her bottom during diaper changes which can be gross if she's made a poo. I have started giving her a toy during diaper changes to occupy her hands. : ) She continues to enjoy reading books and singing songs. She now shakes her head side to side like "no" except that she doesn't do it in reference to the word no, but because she is flirting and knows we all find it very cute and she loves the attention she gets.
I look forward to sunny days ahead so we can spend more time outside. The weather here has been crazy. Yesterday we saw all four seasons in a half hour, rain, wind, hail, snow (yes, snow), and warm sunshine. Like God couldn't decide what kind of weather we should have and just decided to give us a little bit of everything. Isn't it spring?
